What Can I Take for My Insomnia?

By jmaroneyct@gmail.com • April 25, 2018 • Comments Off on What Can I Take for My Insomnia?

Dear Dr. Jen, What can I take for my insomnia? I want to take something natural.

Answer: Melatonin helps! Melatonin is a hormone made by the pineal gland, which is in the brain. Melatonin helps your body with the sleep/wake cycle. As the amount of ambient light decreases, your body makes more melatonin. Melatonin levels usually start to go up in the evening, and drop in the morning as the sun rises.

Taking a melatonin supplement can help you naturally regulate your sleep/wake cycle. There are many places you can purchase melatonin. You can check out the following link, for a discount: https://wellevate.me/jennifer-ju#/

Don’t forget to turn off your electronic devices at least an hour before bedtime! The light from your electronic devices will disrupt your sleep, as well.
